Privacy Policy for SMS-MOT-Reminder

Last Updated: October 2025

Introduction

Welcome to SMS-MOT-Reminder. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information and data are handled when you use our desktop software. Our fundamental principle is that your data is your own. The Application is designed to operate locally on your computer and does not transmit your personal data, contact lists, or message content to us or any third party.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

SMS-MOT-Reminder is a local desktop application. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of the following personal information:

  • Your name, email address, or other personal identifiers.
  • Your contact lists, client data, or phone numbers that you load from CSV files.
  • The content of the SMS messages you create, send, or receive.
  • Any data related to your Huawei dongle or your SIM card.

All data you work with, including your client lists (CSV files) and message templates (.txt files), is stored exclusively on your local computer in your user’s “Documents” folder. We have no access to this information.

2. How the Application Works

The Application functions by interacting directly and locally with the Huawei E3372 USB dongle connected to your computer. All communication for sending and receiving SMS messages occurs between your computer and your mobile network provider via the dongle. This traffic does not pass through our servers.

3. Information Collected for Licensing and Trial Management

When the Application starts, it transmits a unique identifier based on your computer’s Hardware to our licensing server. This is used solely for the following purposes:

  • To determine whether a trial period has expired on a specific machine.
  • To manage software activation and licensing for that machine.
  • To prevent misuse of trial periods and license keys.

No personal data, contact information, or usage activity is transmitted during this process. The Hardware serial number is used only as a device identifier and is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information.

We do not share or sell this information to any third party. It is stored securely and used exclusively for licensing and trial management purposes.

4. Information Collected for Application Updates (If Applicable)

The Application may check for updates by contacting our server. This process is anonymous and does not transmit any personal data. The information sent may include the current version number of your Application to determine if a newer version is available. No user-specific or device-specific identifiers are collected during this process.

5. Third-Party Services

The Application does not integrate with any third-party services that would collect your personal data. Your interaction is solely with the software on your PC and your own mobile network provider through your hardware.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our application is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.

7. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA), we are required to explain the legal basis on which we process personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and EU GDPR.

Our use of your device’s Hardware serial number is based on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). These legitimate interests are to:

  • Verify that a trial period has not expired on a specific machine.
  • Prevent misuse of free trials and license keys.
  • Enable and enforce valid software licensing.

We do not use this identifier to personally identify you, and we do not link it to your name, email address, or other personal data. It is used solely to recognise the machine on which the software is installed.

You have the right to object to this processing at any time by contacting us. However, if you object, the software may no longer function in trial or licensed mode.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the UK or EEA, you have certain rights under data protection law, including:

  • The right to access any personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to request correction or deletion of your data (where applicable).
  • The right to object to our processing of your data.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Because we do not collect any personal information beyond a device identifier, these rights may have limited application. If you wish to exercise your rights, please contact us using the details below.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

10. Contact Us
